Netrunner is a very thematic card game about cyberpunk hacking and corporate espionage. Its mechanics are incredibly fluid and deep. But above all, Netrunner is one of the most welcoming gaming communities out there, where all are made to feel at home. It fosters a culture of fun over victory, where even at high stakes events, your opponents will eagerly redo sequences of actions if you missed an unusual effect on the other side of the board.

Another wonderful aspect of Netrunner is the asymmetry built into the rules. The game pits a lone hacker against a giant scheming corporation, each side played by one player, each with completely different actions and roles. The corporation sets the pace of the game by acquiring Assets or setting Agendas into motion and must defend these investments from the versatile hacker who can attempt to infiltrate and foil Agendas.

I am lucky to be pretty good at navigating the intricacies of this awesome game, having ended at the number 1 spot in the 2024 season rankings (*). I am also lucky to have won the 2023 Italian National Championship, which earned me the privilege of putting my likeness on a card (pictured above). I am a member of Team TAI-Breakers, you can find us at most tournaments getting very unlucky when it comes to tiebreakers as punishment for our bad pun name.

Netrunner is also a game of developing and sharing strategies and advice. This happens both on the GLC Discord Server where you can find me commenting on the newest ideas about the game, or on netrunnerdb, a dedicated website to sharing of decklists and strategy, where I endeavor to post all my ideas on the current state of the game.
